Letter from God

Homework assignment:  Write a letter from the perspective of God to you, using Scripture to tell why He loves you and how there is nothing that can separate you from the love of God.  Assignment completed.  Imperfectly, but completed. :)  (Scriptures listed at bottom)

Dear Laurie,

I love you because I made you.  Better yet, I made you in My very own image.  You are special because I made you special, and, even though I feel that way about every single human being that has ever existed, there is nothing that can lessen how special *you* are to Me.

You love to understand things, my dear Laurie, and so you try so very hard to understand Me and the whys of what I allow in your life and the lives of others.  That is okay.  I want you to seek to know Me.  But don't give yourself a headache trying to completely understand My ways.  Your finite being can't do it.  I made you in My image, but I did not make you Me.  I, Jehovah, am the only true God.  My ways are so much higher than yours.  I'm in control.  You need to decide whether or not you trust me to guide you through the storms of life.  Keep your eyes on Me, not the storms.  Circumstances change with the wind, but I will ever remain Who I am--THE refuge, THE source of wisdom, THE giver of absolutely pure love, THE provider.

Nothing can separate you from My love.  Whether it be death or life, angels or demons, your fears for today or your worries about tomorrow--not even the powers of hell can separate us, dear one.  Because of your faith in My beloved Son, Who sacrificed everything in your place, there is nothing in all creation that can separate you from Me.  My very Spirit dwells within you and intercedes for you in ways you can't understand.

If only you knew how it felt for Me to see my only begotten Son forsaken and abused, knowing He would bear your sin on the cross, you might understand just how much I love you.  Think of how much you love Little Mister.  Then think of how much love you would have to have for undeserving people, to ask your long-awaited son to pay a dreadful price for the mistakes of those undeserving people.  Can you muster up a general idea of how much love it would take to do that?  Whatever idea is in your mind doesn't begin to cover the amount of love I have for you.  I love perfectly, and My Son had never done a wrong thing--ever!  He deserved less than anyone to pay the price He paid.  I deserved less than anyone to sacrifice My Son. I love you SO much, Laurie!

Now, with a renewed sense of My perfect love for you, keep seeking Me.  Don't worry about what's going on now, nor fret about what you will do tomorrow.  Forget about the past, too--you're a new creation! Live each moment to its fullest, trusting that, though you look up and only see the bottom of the needlepoint of life, with all the knots and hanging threads, I can see the whole picture from up here.  In fact, I am the One who created it.  It's a beautiful tapestry, and you know everything you need to know for now.  Trust Me to guide you.

Lovingly,
God
